Why an Andorran weekend works differently

Andorra doesn't run at the pace of an ordinary city. Saturday afternoon and Sunday, cars come in over the French border and up from La Seu, people from the valley get their day off, and anyone working a season at Grandvalira spends their one free day. All of it lands on the same few hours.

Then add the holiday calendar: the national ones, each parish's own, and whatever long weekend falls next. In Escaldes-Engordany there are weeks where Monday behaves like a Sunday.

The result never changes. There are slots, but they go fast. Turn up on spec late on a December Sunday and you'll probably leave uncut.
